Originally from Grand Haven, Michigan, I have been teaching in Chicago Public Schools for 3 years. I am passionate about using technology skills in the classroom to allow students and teachers to form bonds in the world of Covid-19. Using technology in the classroom is inherently culturally sustaining for our students, and simultaneously creates and avenue for which our students have access to our world. Technology amplifies our students' voices, and allows them to be heard.

Additionally, I teach students mindfulness practices to use both in and outside the classroom. Mindfulness practices are tools that allow students to cope with the tumultuous lives that our young people all too often face, while teaching them empathy and gratefulness for the people in their lives and world around them.

Like all of us, I am a continuous learner that is eager to learn and understand new approaches and tools that help build connection and make meaning with our students, colleagues, and communities.
