I've been teaching high school for seventeen years and specifically teaching CS for six years at Lane Tech. I have always been motivated to encourage more females to enter the field of CS. I run an art and technology club at Lane and I teach Media Computation and Innovation Creation Lab. Media Comp is an introductory programming course where students learn Python through the use of different forms of media such as music, animation and images. I love being able to teach programming in a fun, engaging and unique way. Innovation Creation Lab is our makers class where students learn digital fabrication. I am a pretty artistic person by nature and I love that I can combine my love for both art and technology in all that I do at Lane. My classes and club all focus on artistic and technology pieces.
