Erin has been working as a preschool teacher for the past thirteen years in Chicago. She has achieved her National Board Certification and Masters of Science in Early Childhood Education from the Erikson Institute. Erin has worked in the Head Start and Tuition-Based preschool programs within Chicago Public Schools and currently works at Burley Elementary in the West Lakeview neighborhood. She has served as a Model Classroom Teacher for the Philadelphia-based curriculum company, Children's Literacy Initiative, using the Blueprints for Early Literacy preschool curriculum. Erin has worked as a coach to fellow early childhood and primary teachers in her own school and schools across Chicago through Boundless Readers, Chicago Foundation for Education, and other organizations. During the summer of 2010, Erin traveled to Reggio Emilia, Italy to study with colleagues from around the world and investigate best practices in early childhood education as part of a grant with Fund for Teachers. Erin regularly presents about early childhood practices at universities, workshops, and conferences. She will be taking on the exciting opportunity to teach Kindergarten this school year.
