Welcome to Tech Talk 2024!

I am thrilled to announce that I will be presenting at Tech Talk 2024 as a member of the Apple Support Team. I have been working in the education sector for over 17 years, with the last 11 years focused on developing technical and teaching foundational computer and programming skills as a Computer Science Teacher and Technology Coordinator for Chicago Public Schools. I am a certified professional training and development consultant, as well as a Google Certified Level-1 and Level-2 Educator. Moreover, I am also a certified Apple Teacher and Apple Learning Coach. In my current role at Chicago Public Schools as an Apple Device Management Administrator, I have trained adult learners in Device Management Systems, Google, and Apple software applications, and provided coaching on technology integration using complex systems.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Instructional Technology & Design from Western Illinois University, a Master of Arts degree in Teaching in Elementary Education from Concordia University, and a Master of Education degree in Administration and Supervision (Type 75) from National Louis University. My primary interest lies in integrating information technology, instructional design, and educational theory. This passion has driven me to pursue further education beyond a Master's degree. Currently, I am working towards a doctorate in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Technology and Corporate Training.

Utilizing technology effectively is a great way to spark the interest of students of all ages and encourage their engagement with learning materials and curricula. I take great pleasure in learning new technical skills and discovering the latest technologies, and I aim to inspire my students and adult learners with my enthusiasm. Since technology is constantly evolving, as educators and instructors we should adapt to new ways of implementing technology for the betterment of our students.
